Got heart disease? You're at greater risk for kidney disease

If you have a heart disease diagnosis, it's important to also consider another pair of organs--your kidneys. That's because heart disease and high blood pressure are risk factors for kidney disease, and you could be affected without even knowing it.

That's sort of the basis of World Kidney Day, which takes place Thursday, March 11. The National Kidney Foundation sponsors free screenings through its Kidney Early Evaluation Program. Find one near you.
